WhatsApp Introduces Secret Feature for Private Chats

WhatsApp has introduced a new Secret Code feature for conversations, one of the most significant privacy enhancements. Users may already set a lock to their very personal WhatsApp messages, but there was a flaw.

The platform allowed customers to use the same fingerprint password to unlock their phone for WhatsApp’s private conversations, which meant that if someone registered their fingerprint on their phone, they could also check their WhatsApp messages.

With the latest version, everything has changed, as WhatsApp has enhanced security by sending out the new Secret Code function to all users. You can now build a one-of-a-kind password consisting of words or emojis to safeguard your chats with a passcode that only you know. According to the facts disclosed by the company’s senior executive, you may also set settings to access restricted chats by just putting the secret code on the search box.

Meta CEO said “Rolling out secret code to Chat Lock on WhatsApp so you can protect your chats with a unique password. Now you can set your locked chats to only appear when you type the secret code in the search bar, so no one can unintentionally discover your most private conversations,”.

How To Quickly Lock Chats?

According to WhatsApp, you no longer need to visit each conversation settings to lock a chat; instead, you may just long-press a chat to lock it.

How can I use WhatsApp’s new Secret code feature?

To keep your WhatsApp talks private, visit the list of closed chats and press the three dots at the top. After that, go to Chat Lock settings and enable “Hide locked chats” as well as a secret code you can remember.

After that, your locked talks will no longer appear in the main chat window, giving you greater privacy than the current WhatsApp design, which displays a shortcut for locked chats when you swipe down on the chat screen.

Simply enter the secret code in the search field to view your protected chats. Remember that this visibility is only for a moment and will end when you quit the app, providing a safe and private chat experience.

WhatsApp began rolling out the function, so it will take some time for all users to receive it. People should expect the functionality to be on their phones in a few days.
